Ethylene sensitive flowers

The Ethylene is a gas that acts as the hormone of ripening and aging on plants and fruit& vegetable procucts.The contamination of air from Ethylene can come from fruits and vegetables, from decaying vegetable material, from incomplete combustion of carbides (unloading gases), from the natural issue of cut flowers and from the plants in vase.In cut flowers, the exposure to ethylene gas involves the premature drop of leaves and petals, accelerates the opening of the buds, shortening the shelf-life and the marketing of them.
